Holden Beach RV Campground, NC

Image
We drove from Princeton, WV to HBRV on December 3rd and looked forward to a relaxing time in some warmer weather. We had a nice site with lots of space toward the back of the RV that made it nice and private where the picnic table, fire ring, and our chairs were. The campground is less than 3 miles from the beach and this time of year the beach is not crowded. We found a new grocery store,  Lowes Foods. It is a NC chain and new to us. Grocery shopping at Lowes was fun but pricey.  We went to a local Italian market that just happened to be colocated with a brewery. The brewery (Makai Brewing Company) was cool. We enjoyed some nice beers while sitting outside. We got a really cool pair of beer glasses that are shaped like a beer can and heavier on the bottom. One day we made a trip to North Myrtle Beach to look at a couple of RV parks so we could make some reservations for Greg’s annual forensic conference.  HBRV website: https://www.hbrv.net/      ...

Brushcreek Falls RV Resort, Princeton, WV

We arrived at Brushcreek on November 8th. We had a bunch of appointments to take care of so sightseeing was not on our list of things to do. Plus, we had lived in the area since 2003. The biggest drawback to this campground is the proximity to I-77 and the amount of truck noise at night. We also needed to take stuff to our storage unit and of course get some winter type stuff out of storage. We also got to catch up with some friends and get a much needed haircut. Shauna, Andrew and Cooper came over for Thanksgiving. and to celebrate an early Christmas. While at the campground Shauna and Andrew went to visit some of Andrew’s local relatives and we kept Cooper. Keeping Cooper was fun and Cooper even stayed calm when Greg left to make a run to Lowes. While their visit was only a few days we really enjoyed it.
