Sherman RV Center, Sherman, MS

Finally… We arrived at Sherman RV on August 17 to complete the purchase of our new Tiffin Phaeton 40IH motorhome. The walk through/inspection and paperwork was completed on the 18th.  Moving into the new RV took a day and a half. The heat and rain really slowed the process down. Sherman has some sites that have electric, water, and sewer so at least we had that. The sites are only for people picking up an RV, they are not for rent. We left Sherman on Friday the 20th and moved up to Memphis Jellystone Park in Lake Horn, MS.                                                      Sherman RV Center                                    ...

Red Bay Acres, Red Bay, AL

Red Bay is the home of Tiffin Motorhomes. We stopped here for two nights (August 15 and 16) on our way to get our new RV (our new home). Red Bay Acres has concrete pads, picnic tables and a nice catch & release pond. They have a restaurant onsite, it was closed for renovations while we were there.  Most of the other parks are basically gravel lots with full hook ups (water, power and sewer). This is not a dig on those other places as they are very affordable for those that are here to get their RV serviced. Some of the parks are even self serve. When we arrived, it was pouring rain. So we waited for the rain to slack up before going to our site and getting settled. While waiting we had a nice chat with our daughter and son-in-law. We drove around Red Bay getting a feel for the area and checking out the Tiffin Motorhome facilities. We went in a local grocery store, a Piggly Wiggly. We have not been in one in a very long time. Mountain Glen RV Park, Pikeville, TN

We left Two Rivers Landing RV Resort on August 9, 2021. The next stop was Mountain Glen RV Park, were we stayed from the 9th until the 15th. Mountain Glen is a small family owned park in a very rural area. The surrounding area is also a Mennonite community. We went to two of their produce stands and the veggies were great. At the produce stand closest to the campground, we got a loaf of sourdough bread and some oatmeal cookies fresh from the oven. Yes, they were delicious. The picture of the mums was taken at this produce stand. At the deli we got some smoked turkey, smoked ham and smoked Swiss cheese. WOW, what a great sandwich. We went to the local General Store where Cheryl fell in love with a bentwood rocking chair. Since we live in an RV we had to leave the rocker there. We did get some fresh eggs though. We decided to take the back-roads back to the campground. These roads are mainly used by the Mennonites and their horse drawn wagons, so they are unpaved gravel/dirt. We cam...

Two Rivers Landing RV Resort, Sevierville, TN

What can we say? We love this park, we even did a stint as work campers here (Oct 2018 - April 2019). We had a great time working there and met some new friends. This time (July 28 - August 9, 2021) we were in site 14 on the river and that was very nice.  I had to fly to Denver for a conference on the 1st of August. Cheryl stayed at Two Rivers while I was in Denver.  We just did not want to leave the RV by itself. Two Rivers Landing is located on the French Broad River in Sevierville, TN. There are 25 pull-in sites where the motorhome faces the river. We have seen a nesting pair of Bald Eagles, a herd of deer, a flock of turkeys and lots of Canadian Geese in the field across the river from the resort. We have also seen three River Otters playing on the far bank and in the water. One evening I even saw a hawk taking a Robin for a meal. Of course, if you visit Two Rivers Landing you must checkout Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, and Gatlinburg.  While there, make sure you go to the...
