Sycamore Lodge, Jackson Springs, NC

We left Lazy Llama on October 8th and drove over to Jackson Springs, NC to spend two weeks at Sycamore Lodge. The campground is located in a pine forest and the roads and sites are all hard packed sand. The sites were nice and roomy.  Even with all of the trees our satellite dish still worked. We had to move to another site after the first week. The second site was better and the trees did not block any of the satellites.

The campground is known for the Haunted Forest they do on the weekends in October. The weekends are really busy. They also had an auction that raised a lot of money for local charities.

Greg did some fishing at the resort’s lake which is catch & release. He caught a few little Brim, but found out that the fish were conditioned to hit pieces of hotdog. No, he did not buy any hotdogs for bait.

We went into Aberdeen to shop several times. One afternoon we went to the Railhouse Brewery (Veteran Owned) (https://www.railhousebrewery.com) and had some good beer and food. While in Aberdeen, we walked around the train depot and the little city park area that was very nice.
