Lake Greenwood Motorcoach Resort, Greenwood, SC

 We left New Green Acres and went to Lake Greenwood Motorcoach Resort near Greenwood, SC. We stayed there from July 21 until July 28, 2021. LGMR is one of those places where you can own the site and improve it as you wish based on your budget. It is obvious that some do not have a budget, some of the sites are really fixed up with additional patios, outdoor kitchens and such. As an owner, you can also rent your site while you are not using it. As you can see, we were not in one of the fancy sites. Our site was one that has not sold and we enjoyed the solitude.

We had planned on spending much of the week doing a little sightseeing and spending time at the pool. Well, Cheryl caught a head cold and wasn’t up to doing anything but sleep. Cheryl started feeling better and then Greg caught the cold. It could have been the pollen, going in and out of air conditioned buildings in the Florida heat that did us in. Neither one of us had been sick like this since sometime in 2019.

One day, we did go to the local farmer’s market in Greenwood and then we stopped at a Mom & Pop donut shop. Wow, the donuts were the best we have had in a very long time, better than Dunkin and Krispy Kreme.

We did enjoy sitting outside a few times in the morning reading and having coffee.

The resort is very well kept and the staff was very friendly. There are two sets of docks and a boat ramp right there as part of the resort. There is also a storage place for vehicles, trailers and RV’s. The clubhouse has a small laundry room and restrooms for those using the pool.

Twin Lakes RV Resort, Cumming, GA

 We overnighted on the way here at GSP RV park near Greer, SC, not much to write about. We picked Twin Lakes because of the proximity to Cheryl’s mom in Canton, GA. We stayed here from October 23 - November 5. The site we were in was basically a spot on a gravel parking lot. Cheryl’s mom did not know we were coming for a visit, so we got up Sunday morning and headed to Canton (about a 25 minute drive). Once we got to Canton we stopped and got donuts and Starbuck’s to take to Mom’s.  We sure did surprise her. When she opened the door you could tell she recognized us, but she did not understand why she was seeing us. It was a happy surprise. We had a really nice visit.  Greg went and got BBQ as Cheryl’s sister Belinda and her partner Michelle joined us. We brought Mom back to the RV, to see our home. Happy Holiday RV Resort, Rapid City SD

 July 14 - July 25 We had originally planned to spend two weeks at the FamCamp on Ellsworth AFB, but found this campground that was a better choice for seeing the sights without as much back and forth. This is an interesting park, we are wall to wall in our space. Our tow is parked beside us in the grass, ok'd by owners. There is a covered picnic shelter with two tables in between us and another site. Kind of unusual for us but not a problem either. Not all spaces have the covered picnic area. The trip to our site was very tight, the tree limbs rubbed the top of the coach and we went very slow because of the tightness. Not our favorite park but we've been at worse. We did use the laundry facilities so it wouldn't heat up our coach. There is a pool but we didn't use it. We had several extremely hot days (107F) and the breakers for our section tripped several times. The park is scheduled to have the electrical distribution  on this row repaired by an electrician. Midway RV Park, Statesville, NC

 On our way to Princeton, WV for our medical appointments we stopped over at Midway RV Park for a few days. It was a nice park, the arrangement of the sites was a little strange. But it worked out. The park had a pool, a mini golf and big pillow type bouncing thing for the kids. So, this would be a fun place for kids in the summer. They had a nice little lake that was catch & release. Greg enjoyed the fishing.
