New Green Acres, Walterboro, SC



We stopped here for one night the first time in October 2019 on our way for Florida.
This time,  July 21, 2021, we stopped again for one night leaving Florida on our way to Lake Greenwood Motorcoach resort in South Carolina.

New Green Acres is not a resort, but it is a nice place to overnight and the price is right at $35.00. It is located at I-95 Exit 54. There is not much at this exit although the Cracker Barrel was very good this time. It might have been our best quality meal so far.

For more dining and shopping options, there is a lot more at Exit 57 in Walterboro, SC.

Driving in torrential rain was not fun with one windshield wiper. We stopped for gas and I found the E-clip had come off of the linkage for the passenger side wiper. I had a large E-clip in my box of parts and was able to make it fit with the help of a pair of pliers. It held until we got to New Green Acres.
I even found the correct size E-clip and washer at an AutoZone. I did not want to rely on the E-clip I bent any longer than needed.

Twin Lakes RV Resort, Cumming, GA

 We overnighted on the way here at GSP RV park near Greer, SC, not much to write about. We picked Twin Lakes because of the proximity to Cheryl’s mom in Canton, GA. We stayed here from October 23 - November 5. The site we were in was basically a spot on a gravel parking lot. Cheryl’s mom did not know we were coming for a visit, so we got up Sunday morning and headed to Canton (about a 25 minute drive). Once we got to Canton we stopped and got donuts and Starbuck’s to take to Mom’s.  We sure did surprise her. When she opened the door you could tell she recognized us, but she did not understand why she was seeing us. It was a happy surprise. We had a really nice visit.  Greg went and got BBQ as Cheryl’s sister Belinda and her partner Michelle joined us. We brought Mom back to the RV, to see our home. Happy Holiday RV Resort, Rapid City SD

 July 14 - July 25 We had originally planned to spend two weeks at the FamCamp on Ellsworth AFB, but found this campground that was a better choice for seeing the sights without as much back and forth. This is an interesting park, we are wall to wall in our space. Our tow is parked beside us in the grass, ok'd by owners. There is a covered picnic shelter with two tables in between us and another site. Kind of unusual for us but not a problem either. Not all spaces have the covered picnic area. The trip to our site was very tight, the tree limbs rubbed the top of the coach and we went very slow because of the tightness. Not our favorite park but we've been at worse. We did use the laundry facilities so it wouldn't heat up our coach. There is a pool but we didn't use it. We had several extremely hot days (107F) and the breakers for our section tripped several times. The park is scheduled to have the electrical distribution  on this row repaired by an electrician. Midway RV Park, Statesville, NC

 On our way to Princeton, WV for our medical appointments we stopped over at Midway RV Park for a few days. It was a nice park, the arrangement of the sites was a little strange. But it worked out. The park had a pool, a mini golf and big pillow type bouncing thing for the kids. So, this would be a fun place for kids in the summer. They had a nice little lake that was catch & release. Greg enjoyed the fishing.
