Deer Run RV Resort, Crossville, TN
Is it bad that we miss Windemere Cove? We rolled into Deer Run on the 17th of September. Deer Run is a nice park with a lake and small beach area, lots of golf carts, and the sites are close together. Our site (#341) was a nice open site with plenty of room. There are lots of what appears to be permanent residents, but the rental sites were some distance from most of these sites. The resort is huge, and they have left as many trees as possible. They allow fishing in the lake although it is catch & release. They advertise that wifi is available and it is, you just have to pay for it. I am glad we have two hotspots for internet access.
It was mostly rainy while we were there so we didn't get to get out very much in the park.
We did go to the Stonehaus Winery and got some nice wines after doing a tasting. We ate lunch at Bramble Berry Cafe that is next door to the winery. The cafe is setup inside like an old house and is full of eclectic treasures for purchase. The dining tables are spread out throughout the rooms so you can shop while you dine.
Oh yeah, in case you're wondering, Deer Run is where you can find Big Foot.
